The Stan Valley Canyon

The Stan Valley Canyon is a spectacular canyon that starts from Transfagărășan, halfway between the Poienari Fortress and the Vidraru Dam, at the first 180 degree curve. It is one of the most beautiful key routes in the country. The canyon impresses with the narrow valley, with rock walls rising dizzyingly in a wild landscape. The canyon is arranged for tourists, with metal stairs, cables, bridges, railings and walkways between the slopes of the stream.
