About

The “George Topîrceanu” Memorial House in Nămăiești is the place where the author of “Happy and sad Ballads” spent 8 years of his life. The house presents exhibits related to the life and activity of the poet - a part of the personal library, letters addressed to family and friends, manuscripts, photos, hunting weapons, sticks. An interior wooden staircase, an original element in the peasant architecture, leads us upstairs where the atmosphere in which George Topîrceanu lived and wrote was recreated. Towards the street, a bedroom with antique furniture and many popular fabrics evoke for the visitor the calmness of the poet's hours of rest.
